Metroid Dread bequeath give players the most freedom to explore since Super Metroid, and that may include moving through the game world in shipway the developers did not intend.

The latest "Metroid Dread Report" from Nintendo recaps every side-scrolling entry in the Metroid series (so no Prime games or Other M) and notes how parts of each one will be reflected in Metroid Dread. The section for Tiptop Metroid sets up some of the most exciting parallels.

"The Super Metroid game stool represent same to offer the sterling flexibility for exploration in the serial," the account states. "You can enjoy similar tractability in the Metroid Dread game, depending connected how you take vantage of your abilities. You might be fit to find ways to find weapons, items, and abilities earlier than the intended timing. We encourage you to try to discover alternate routes of exploration."

Reaching parts of games before you'ray intended to do so, often by putting in-halt abilities to use in unusual ways (also sometimes instantly glitches), is referred to as "sequence breaking." For dedicated players of Super Metroid and many of the geographic expedition games it helped inspire, sequence breaks are a hallmark of high-level play.

Now, Nintendo isn't instantly stating that it will intentionally let you short-circuit whatever paths it intends for you to take off - and if information technology did confirm that, I'm not even sure it would technically be sequence breakage any more - merely it is giving an encouraging wink to ambitious explorers.

Nintendo also shared a new-sprung Metroid Dread dawdler which includes our first look back at Chozo and some new power armor.

I got a BA in fourth estate from Central Michigan University - though the best education I acceptable in that location was from Cm Life, its student-run newsprint. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my elderly sidekic to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and now I'm a faculty writer here at GamesRadar.
